Release schedule and version numbers

ERIKA Enterprise and RT-Druid follow a 6-month release schedule, with additional updates automatically released on an Eclipse update repository.

Basically ERIKA Enterprise and RT-Druid are developed incrementally. Every night a set of regression tests are run, and when all tests passes correctly the plugins are automatically updated on the website. These plugins are always available on the Latest nightly build section at the end of this page.

Afterwards, every 6 months we tag the Latest nightly build and give it a version number to create the Latest release, which is basically a complete software distribution that is the first one installed on your machines. The plugins available for download in the Latest release are the onse used in the release packages.

Note that changes which are not backward compatible (like data structures changes happened after the release of version 2.2.0) typically happens just after a release.

Virtual Machines

We also prepared a set of virtual machines that we update from time to time. Due to their size, and because some of them contain proprietary software (compilers/debuggers), we decided to host them in a separate web space. Click here to download them.
